In
response to an ad I posted on Craigslist I received a call from a partner at an
investment consulting firm who requested that I build a spreadsheet for their
weekly reporting process. They already had a spreadsheet in use but they wanted
it simplified and consolidated for all 3 of their reporting branches. This
investment consulting firm sells consulting services to clients and tracks the
number of leads, closed sales, and revenue generated by each client in each
office. The partner asked that I create a way to summarize the results based on
each consultant (employee), and corresponding charts showing the results. He
also asked that the charts and tables be able to automatically update based on
branch, fiscal quarter, and week of the quarter if desired. They also wanted to
be able to summarize the results based on the partner that handled the transaction
and have a sheet that calculated the bonus due to each consultant based on the
number of closed sales and a sheet where daily transactions are added or updated.
