Family Finance Application

Executive Summary

Family Finance Application (FFA) is a VBA automated spreadsheet that allows the user to keep track of everyday financial transactions along with ability to set the monthly budget and retrieve a monthly budget vs. actual report. The application provides a user form interface for every function of the application. FFA uses double-entry accounting and requires manual entry of every transaction, which indirectly forces the user to be mindful of his/her spending, keeping expenses low. Additionally, the application contains a custom ribbon tab with various function buttons, which makes the application more user-friendly.

Prior to this project our family used a less-sophisticated spreadsheet to keep track of our finances. This application allows us to further automate the budgeting process and add more structure to managing our money. FFA has been a great time-saver so far for my family.
