Twin Butte Energy is a small Canadian oil company that employs several production revenue accountants to manage transactions relating to oil sales and transport. One of Twin Butte’s primary clients regularly sends them a report about how much oil they have received from wells owned by Twin Butte. The production revenue accountants compare the report from the customer with their internal records. Since records are often generated by oil workers in the field, discrepancies often arise between what Twin Butte believes was shipped and what the customer believes they received.
The Production Revenue Accounting Add-In automates the process of auditing differences between the internal Twin Butte report and the report generated by the customer. The add-in also generates reports to summarize information for the production revenue accountants.
