Executive
Summary
I work for Community Action Food Bank and Services
with their Circles Utah movement. Circles’ goal is to help low-income families become
economically stable. After completing a 12 week course, each client is called a
“Circle Leader”. They are then matched up with two or three local volunteers of
middle or upper class called “Allies”. Together Circle Leaders and Allies form
a circle of support to help the Circle Leader as he or she works to get out of
poverty. Staff members called Coaches oversee these circles and help facilitate
the progress its progress.
We store data on each Circle Leader and Ally in a Microsoft
Access database file. Our coaches need summary data on the Circle Leader’s
demographics, monetary information, progress, contact information, etc. The
system I built will pull the data from the access database to hidden sheets in
the excel workbook. On the ribbon, Coaches can click on the “CL Data” button,
choose a circle leader, and view summary data on them.
Because of liability issues, I cannot show the original
data. Instead, the data in these workbooks have been changed. The functionality
of the system is still intact even with these changes.
